The carat is the unit of measurement of the weight and size of a diamond. One carat is divided into 100 “points”. So half a carat corresponds to 0.50 "points". The price of the diamond increases with the weight in carats, but it is important to know that a 1 carat diamond will have a higher price than two diamonds of 0.50 points (half a carat) each.
